Greenwood, SC - Greenwood Charter Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Preston Allen as School Director following a unanimous vote by the Board. Allen will lead the school into the 2026-27 school year, bringing nearly three decades of experience and a strong track record of fostering positive school culture, supporting academic achievement, and building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families.
Allen began his career in education in 1998 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Gardner-Webb University. He later earned a Master’s Degree in School administration from Western Carolina University. His experience spans elementary, middle, and high school levels, equipping him with a well-rounded perspective on students' growth, both academically and socially.
Most recently, Allen served as principal of Sunny View Elementary School in Polk County, North Carolina, a role he has held since 2020. Prior to that, he served as assistant principal at both Chase Middle School and R.S. Middle School, where he led key initiatives in curriculum development, student discipline, and school improvement planning.

Throughout his career, Allen has demonstrated a deep commitment to creating structured, supportive learning environments grounded in clear expectations and strong relationships. He is known for prioritizing students and staff in every decision that he makes.
